During Bering Sea crab season, Cole risks his life to earn his uncle Dale a fortune but gets only $5,000. With his parents gravely ill, he finds a map to the Golden Abyss. He and his friend Cody sail a battered boat to catch king crabs, battling Dale and dockside thugs. Against all odds, Cole rises to build his own fishing empire.
