Legendary test pilot Aileen hides as a mechanic at Baker Aviation. Before takeoff, she spots a fatal crack in the jet's hydraulics and warns the captain, who ignores her out of grudge. In the air, the hydraulics fail and everyone dismisses her warning. At the critical moment, she activates her dormant FAA authority to guide the plane to safety.
